Susie Brandt doesn't want you to have a passive gallery experience. Rather, she's using scissors and a hand-crank sewing machine to work with gallery visitors to process donated clothing and textiles into linear raw material. Then, Brandt will make it into a rope she walks on. Brandt explains that, to her, rope offers a way to talk about themes like the locality, labor and waste/re-use surrounding textiles. Attend the show's grand opening on July 11 between 5:30-7pm or stop by on during the Jul 13 artist's talk at 12 pm to deepen the experience further.
