Dominic Desautels—a Scotia Festival favourite—kicks off the event's 40th year on solo clarinet with a new, samba-inspired piece by John Novacek. Works by Back and Mozart with Tim Fain on violin and Philip Glass's "Partita No. 2 for Solo Cello" performed by Matt Haimovitz round out the bill.
