Māori theatre artist Cian Parker and Tkaronto-based Deaf actor Gaitrie Persaud-Killings have teamed up to bring “Sorry For Your Loss” to the Bus Stop Theatre, in an accessible performance delivered in English and artistically-integrated ASL!
In this heartfelt and hilarious story about growing up on the mean streets of Aotearoa (New Zealand) with a sometimes-there-mostly-not Dad, Cian shares her story about reclaiming her heritage when she is unexpectedly introduced to a father and a family she didn’t know existed. “Sorry For Your Loss” is about the power of wāhine (women); and the gift of strength from one woman to another.
