The Dress: Mayann Francis and the Call to Serve

Mayann Francis served as Nova Scotia’s 31st Lieutenant Governor, the first African Nova Scotian, and only the second woman to ever do so. Throughout Francis’ time in the positon, she often wore couture by Halifax-based designer Etalier Salwa to celebrate local artistry and communicate the proper tone through clothing. Here, you get the chance to see the standout looks from dresses to hats.
