Inventor Tim Jenison attempts to solve an art mystery of how Dutch master Johannes Vermeer painted so photo-realistically, 150 years before the invention of photography. In an epic laboratory project to test his theory, he extends research to Vermeer’s Delft, a meeting with artist and Secret Knowledge author David Hockney and to Buckingham Palace for the Queen’s Vermeer. This entertaining documentary poses fascinating questions about art, and obsession.
