Wrestling with God and Men: Homosexuality in the Jewish Tradition
When: Thu., June 4, 7 p.m. 2015
In 1999, Rabbi Steven Greenberg became the first Orthodox rabbi to openly declare his homosexuality. Employing key elements from his award winning book, Wrestling with God and Men: Homosexuality in the Jewish Tradition, will explore four rationales from biblical, rabbinic and medieval Jewish literature examining the prohibition of sex between men. Each rationale offers a different frame for reconsidering the law's meaning and application.
