Big shout-out to all the extra Y Chromosome types who are so starved for attention that they feel an entitlement to block the front entrance and share with the driver their autobiography, snippets of life-affirming wisdom and observations about the state of the world. Shut the fuck up. Sit the fuck down.

The world doesn't revolve around you, and neither should other passengers. Don't block the aisle with your baby—if I was a mean person I'd toss that thing on the street. The seats flip up not only for wheelchairs but for strollers, too. Get off your lazy ass and be aware of those around you. Tuck that monstrosity to the side and let others pass.

I'll never understand how people can stand at a bus stop for 15 minutes, and it's only when the bus has pulled up and opened its door that they think to start looking in their wallet, purse, backpack, etc. for their bus pass or change. It's like, what the hell were you thinking about for the past 15 minutes? What was going through your pea brain all that time? Then of course the bus driver, and everybody else on the bus, has to sit and wait for you to get your shit together and show your pass to the driver before we can move the fuck on to the next bus stop. Get your shit together and have that shit ready to go before the bus pulls up, and stop wasting everybody's time!

I witnessed your hissy fit in front of a busload of passengers. I can't believe you would risk your child's safety and wellbeing by insisting he/she stay in that plastic car. The driver simply asked you to seat the child with you. You were rude, condescending and frankly abusive. The supervisor and driver were willing to continue downtown. Instead, you proceeded on a profanity laced tirade in front of your own and other kids—a busload of passengers.
Then you had to get abusive with the driver when you were called out on your reprehensible behaviour. What do think would've happened when you ordered him to drive? I would've walked off too, rather than endure your abuse. Any wonder the police finally escorted you off!
Here's a tip: You don't run things and no one owes you anything, you entitled snot. You're frankly an unfit mother and you set one hell of a poor example for your kids. If you don't like rules, then find your own way there. Just don't inflict your bullshit posturing on everybody else!

…who leave the bus with a loud "thank you" to the numerous, obviously ill-behaved transit bus drivers, why? I wish I would hear more "fuck you mister bus driver!"s.

PS: I would post a rant directly to such drivers but I doubt I would get through to any of these rude, racist psychos tbh.

Seriously? You believe the best place to pick at your fly bites and scabs is at the bus stop and on the bus? Not only were you picking—not scratching, but full on picking—your fly bites and scabs, but then you were wiping the blood onto your legs, arms and the bus seat. Come the hell on! How were you raised? No one wants to see that shit. It's disgusting. Then to top it all off you start sneezing with your yap wide open spreading your snot and spit all over the place for all to enjoy. Thanks so much for that. The topper to all of this was the huge wad of spit you graciously left on the side of the street before getting on the bus. Grow up and get some manners. I feel bad for whomever had to sit next to you on the bus.

With all this talk of carbon pricing and people offering public transit as a way to fight climate change: Apparently not our flakey HFX transit! A big bold lie from the www.halifax.ca website is: The Departures Line provides real time bus departure information. I guess they don't understand 'real time'. I have never heard it tell me that a bus is late, it mostly the 'scheduled' time. Last fall, the buses were taken off the streets at 4pm on a friday because of stormy weather. Yet the Departures Line was still lying to me with the regular scheduled times. What is wrong with Halifax Transit? The mayor was recently begging the PM for more money for Halifax's transit. But what did they do with the millions that were given them for the real time system? Did they spend it on tires? If the drivers followed the computer system on the bus, they wouldn't be early for a stop! There's no reason to be early. If HFX transit knew how to use the software, the number 81 would never be right behind the number 80, like it always is. It's pretty simple for a computer: The 80 and 81 run every 30 minutes. So logically, the buses would be 15 minutes apart! Especially on Sunday schedule, where you have buses that run on an hourly program. Up in Clayton Park, the two main hourly buses would pass every 30 minutes.
In practice, it's not even close. Sometimes, they arrive a minute after the other. If there's no way to track how many people take the buses, using a counter on each bus, then how can they measure the miserable job they're doing? I guess without a counter, they can feign ignorance. It's time to write to the people that can make a difference: The government official in the environment depts. Would Margaret Miller understand the situation? Let's tell the PM that the carbon pricing is pointless in NS, because no matter what we do to protect the environment, HFX Transit is fucking up our efforts.

To the tyrannical bus driver of the 80 who defiantly shut off the bus in protest to my refusal to empty my reusable coffee mug of its contents: get over yourself. I am quite capable of preventing my beverage from spilling; even in spite of the tumultuous ride I will endure as a passenger on your deplorable transport service. Haligonians, remember that WE keep the transit service in business to serve US, not the other way around.

Dear people who find it socially acceptable to curse, swear and make sex jokes on public transit: Can you just, like, not? It's uncomfortable for everyone around you, especially at the end of the day when everybody's tired. Paying a dollar for a seat doesn't entitle you to ruin everyone else's day, and my four-year-old son doesn't need to hear you calling someone an "asshole" into your cell phone for not sleeping with you last night. We don't care about or want to know the sordid details of your private life. What ever happened to a little thing called common courtesy? Or is that too quaint a concept in a city like Halifax? It makes me feel especially bad for the bus drivers. They work hard all day and I can't imagine the kind of stuff some of them must have to put up with on a daily basis. I'm not the free speech police, swear if you must, but try to remember that not everybody else is as cool with their children hearing it as you might be. Phones have a silent texting option too, you know.

I have a job interview on Friday. If I owned a car, I would be able to get there in nine minutes, because it's only five and a half kilometres away. If I walked, it'd take an hour and one minute. If—or when—I have to rely on Halifax Transit, I'm looking at 35 to 52 minutes of transit time. The LEAST amount of walking I could do would be for 17 to 20 minutes, and I'd have to take two different buses. Instead, I'll likely opt for a 20-minute bike ride. Shame on you, transit!
