To the talented young artist that painted under the train bridge on Mumford on Saturday afternoon:
I wish you had full license to paint over all the ugliness on that wall. Some of us really appreciate your art, keep it up! —Creating is Life

Men have always said, to me I have a beautiful body.
As I lay angel white and full fleshed, in their bed.
Beds.
Compliments as vast as the ocean, blue, of the eyes I share with my mother come with the tides of our opposing youth and wisdom.
And, yet.
Beauty has failed to strike or possess.
Or create, acknowledgment, in me.
Until arriving here.
Surrounded by this population, this beautiful loving ebb of people and dichotomies.
And jewel encrusted backs of common birds in common areas of the public. It is hard to resist falling into, and in love, with this city everyday.
I fall onto the grass, into the sun, out of the peckish nature of birds,
and into love, with you. Halifax. —Someone who just came back

Thanks for making it worthwhile to get up every morning. Everything has been shit lately, but you've kept me smiling, and kept me falling even harder in love with you. Summer's ending, but we're just heating up. —Beep

I have an amazing girlfriend who, for reasons I can't figure out, has been pretty much single since I have known her. I realize at our age (39) it's harder to find a mate but c'mon!
She is fun, positive, up for adventure, loves dancing, is an awesome cook and the best friend anyone can have. She doesn't play games and has a very healthy, underused, sex-drive (granted, she will probably rip the next guy to shreds in the sack).
So, where are the men who are honest and are actually ready to date? There has to be men out there who aren't still in love with, or still living with, an ex-girlfriend or wife... —Want to see my gal get love and laid... well, not actually "see" but you get it.

THANK YOU Canadian embassy in Sydney Australia for being so helpful when I lost my passport. I am very impressed on the service I received while traveling overseas and it was such a pleasure to deal with the lovely Canadians in Sydney, AU. I lost my passport on a huge bender somewhere between Canada Day and my birthday and when I called to name and shame myself, you were so curious and helpful.
Good on ya mate. —Thunder from down under

Just a little love for the people who have the neatest little folk art 'thing' mailbox? birdfeeder? in their front yard in one of the coolest lanes in the North End - I loved finding it the other week and ended up sharing it with friends. Its treasures like that that makes walking in this area of the city worth it! —North End Walker

You were handsome, polite, a good tipper, and - most importantly - a funny and social guy.
You walked into my bar on a Wednesday night recently with your brown plaid shorts on, and I served you a rye and ginger. "Whiskey and ginger-ale" is what you called it. More cute. Your friend won our 50/50 draw and you teased him about buying you all drinks.
I'm listing all these details because I'm sitting here remembering them with a smile on my face, yes, and because I'm kicking myself for not flirting back with you a little harder when I could tell you were flirting, and because it's so so so so rare to find a guy my age who isn't married, pathetic, crazy, boring, or all of the above, and - most importantly - I'm writing down the night in hopes that you will read this, recognize yourself, and come back into my bar sometime.
I'll flirt back like it's my job, baby. I work a lot of Wednesdays... —Blonde Bartender

This is to the wonderful woman who stopped her car, put on her four way flashers, and got out of the vehicle to shoo a pretty black and white cat off of Vernon Street this morning. I appreciate your kindness towards our feline friends! —LZ
