To the nice guy that tried to help me with my groceries Thursday night - I am so sorry for being a cranky rude bitch to you. I really could've used the help, but I was tired and a woman, so usually when tall men walk up to me in Halifax, it's a bum, crazy person, or an old creep. You looked like a genuinely nice person, so I felt bad for several hours afterwards. —Girl With Neon Pink Stockings and Lots of Groceries

We finally got together after years of knowing each other and it was so sublime. I couldn't help but hold onto you so tight. I've never felt so much from a first kiss before. You are the bomb. You have sooooo many friends though, you're kind of a big deal in this city and you don't have any time for me. My past is holding me back emotionally as well. I don't think a relationship would work, but I do dream about you a lot. Thank you for the attention and loving words you've given me over the last x months. It has meant so much. I can't tell if you are being sincere half the time. You never answer me when I email you. But you are still beautiful and being in your arms is magical. I still think about that day. I do love you (and it hurts). —Lover of the Modern 60s Rocker Guy

This was originally going to be a Bitch about how some jerk had stolen my wallet and "Who could do that during the holiday season?" But then a friendly security guard found it and contacted me, and THEN my amazing coworkers all chipped in a got me a card filled with their own hard-earned money to cheer me up and replace the money that was taken. Talk about LOVE! I hope they understand how much that meant to me, and how lucky I am to have them. Thanks so much to you amazing peeps, I hope to someday return the kindness. You da you da best xo. —Grateful Stylist

Dude, you accidentally hit me on Wednesday night. Not hard enough to hurt but it was pretty scary. And you were kind enough to stop, get out and come up the street to see if I was okay. You even offered to drive me home. That was really kind of you, man. Most people would never stop. You're one of the good guys. —Look Ma, No Bruises!

What an amazing time I had- it really was like being in another world, in more than just the geographic sense. I usually ache for the mountains, and most certainly my lovely dog! But I find myself missing the streets of Halifax. How lucky I am to have such wonderful people in my life, even ten bajillion miles away. —The Luckiest Girl in the World

You are awesome. Thank you for leaving me a note (on the back of a receipt) on my windshield on Chain Lake Drive on November 15th. Thank you for taking the time to stop and scratch that note on a cold, dreary day and thank you for fixing it, pleasant roadside assistance guy, so that I can get to my garage safely. You both saved my car and probably my life! Happy Holidays! —Flat Tired and Lucky
