A big thank you to the wonderful bald bus driver wearing sunglasses today. I didn't get your name, but you helped lighten my mood from a hard day at work. I quickly left my troubles at work when I stepped onto your bus to get home today. I asked you if another bus will take me to downtown Halifax from Sackville and you offered me your bus schedule. Then you asked if I was heading downtown and you said you were changing the bus sign to "out of service" to head to Halifax to become the 23. You invited me to stay on the "out of service" bus to get to Halifax. You have a big helpful heart, so thank you for that. Karma will be your friend. —Heart is Filled with Gratitude

Today, up the street on Barrington, I witnessed an elderly man blown over in the wind and ended up falling in the middle of the street. Traffic was stopped by five young people so they could help the man back up on his feet and retrive his belongings that had blown in the wind all over the street. A past love introduced this little Coast gem to me. Almost daily I take time to read and enjoy the loves (not the bitches) that are sent from one east coaster to the other. I wanted to share something with you all. Two weeks ago I was reading this column from my father's bedside—I waited with him for a week as he passed away. I read this column a lot and will forever remember the escape it gave me during that time.

Shortly after he died, I received a note about loss—and while this is about a passing—I thought it resonated well with losing a lover as well; the feeling is so close to that of a death:

"The pain doesn't leave, it just gets different. Grief seems to be the exclamation mark for love, but in truth it is more of a prism."

I hope all of your heartbreaks are healing and that things are getting "different." Thank you for helping me that week. xo —Happy to be a Coaster

I never thought that I would meet someone so perfect and that I would have have so much fun falling for, especially at a bar in Halifax! I can't wait for more tequila (hold the lemon) nights! You are the best thing to happen to me and I cannot wait to keep showing you how beautiful and perfect you are. I love you! —Bitty

Not only was your playing and singing at the Westin beautiful, but you were smiling the whole time. And you played a song just for my little girl! She talked about it the whole day. Thanks for making my Sunday! —One Happy Momma

I left my change in my car and was short a dime while ordering yummy movie-going popcorn last night. A woman in the lineup overheard and quickly dug in her purse and saved me from being popcornless and craving while watching an film fest flick! Big high five to her! Karma's got you covered. Cheers! —RF

"If you are unafraid to tell your person that you love them, then what is it that you are waiting for?" I am not afraid to tell you how I feel. I am afraid of being hurt again, on the chance you are playing me for a fool. Twice I dreamt of an us, twice but you turned me away, in a fairly violent manner, breaking my heart. If you feel the same you know how to contact me. For you, I leapt twice trying to prove to you my feelings for you are genuine. This time, I'm trying to convince you to make the leap in my direction. That's if you dare to dream with me? —I Will Be Your Little Chickadee

You are beauty incarnate, and I am shackled by another's devotion. You're who I'm looking for. I've been working to escape my current situation, and it's been a delicate process, but once my freedom is assured can we run away together? I think we'll mix and meld, compliment and copulate, laugh and love, wonderfully together. I'll be the Pumbaa to your Timon. —Pride Rock

A sunny afternoon, corner of Spring Garden and Queen, and there you were, a lovely young lady with a large, golden head scarf, smiling right at me. I looked around to double-check and when I looked back, you were still smiling. You offered: "You wear your long hair nice." Nothing like a compliment from a total stranger to make my day. I hope your basket of excellent karma runneth over. —Still Smiling
