To the young woman in the blue shirt at the Clayton Park Sobeys Sunday afternoon: I saw you slap your toddler's fingers as you stormed ahead during his temper tantrum. The child obviously was hungry or something was up. Why did you and your husband (boyfriend or whoever he was) continue to shop with a screaming toddler who's shrinks were bothering everyone in the store. Could one of you not taken him outside to chill while the other finished getting the groceries? I'm sorry but witnessing you slap that poor child broke my heart. I hope karma is a bitch to you!! —a concerned parent

What a great time to be a boomer in halifax. Luxury condos and apartments popping up every where with their needs in mind. Forget about affordable housing for Gen x and y who cant afford a place in halifax with out 2 or more roomates. Why are people on assistance being evicted from there homes so boomers can have a fancy place downtown. Move away from halifax unless you plan on being retired soon because halifax does not care if your below 50 and can't find a place to life that suits your needs.

It's all we hear about. You've annoyed just about every employee with your non-stop chatter about your precious little guy, hell you even show the same damn pictures on a daily basis. No one cares and some of your workers have kids and you don't hear them non-stop chattering about what little Mikey did. You only got under my skin yesterday (Friday) when you mentioned you've been locking him up in a kennel throughout the day. Up until you said this I brushed it off because you literally pay me to hear about your dog. I think maybe I was out of line in my response and may not have a job come next week but what I said, “How dare you lock a puppy up for eight-plus hours a day.” You defended yourself by saying how destructive he is when you're not home. Hmmmmm...maybe you should have had the responsible foresight to realize this would be an issue. But no, just lock him up five to six days a week in a kennel. And bullshit its his “safe place.”

I thought this battle was won, since only six months ago women servers led to sex discrimination complaints at the Ontario Human Rights Commission. In Halifax, women servers at two waterfront pubs wear black, extremely short shorts or skirts and low cut tank tops. Some argue it's good for tips, but it's better for the restaurant owners because it increases their sales. Why are women's bodies being used to increase sales? How humiliating for the women, who just want to do their jobs. —East Coast Diner

I have been searching like mad trying to find a place that has decent reviews where someone in their early 40s can go and shake what their mama gave them to some good dance music on a nice large dance floor. It’s been a while since I have been out and now it seems to me that anyone that is not in their twenties gravitates to old rock band taverns with little or no dance floors. I certainly cannot be the only older woman looking to cut a rug with our newer music?

The Bard's local theatre troupe is performing *As You Like It* tonight in a public park. It was disheartening to find tickets are $25 per person. I think that price is a bit excessive to sit on grass. Shopping comparatively with the world famous festival in Stratford, Ontario, it turns out one can buy tickets for the very same play, for...you guessed it, $25! The Straford venue is a real theatre, professionally equipped with reserved seats that has attracted many famous performers. Why is the local production so expensive? —Julius C.

Now don't get me wrong I love pets a lot and have three different species. Now this is where my Bitch comes in. At least once a week I hear someone talking about how they care more about animals (i.e. only their own pets by the way) then people. I guess their attitude always stems from the argument that pets can't choose their owners they're stuck with them. Well to all I say kids can't choose what family they're born into, which country they're born in or what level of poverty their upbringing faces. But yeah lets care more about animals then actual people that can make a difference if given the proper helping hand. I don't know what happened to these animal first people but I can only surmise their lives revolve around shitty people to have the audacity to value a cat/dog/fish above a human being. I feel sorry for them I truly do. Now what really cracks me up is most of these people I'll ask if they're vegetarians. Only a few a select few. So these people value animals above people but they eat said animals? Hypocrites!

To the two individuals using sign language on the buss to ridicule myself and my friend for whatever petty reason): Your language is not subtle.
