Rape culture is, unfortunately, still prevalent in HRM thanks to the cops.
The HRP and RCMP spend more time giving out traffic tickets than they do investigating and prosecuting the men who rape women.
I should know: I was a victim of date rape. I immediately repored the rape to the police, gave a formal videotaped statement including the name, address and phone of number of my rapist along with text messages where he confessed to raping me. The police, however, couldn't be bothered to go to his house to question him even though they assured me that they believed me. Then people wonder why the victim rarely reports being raped.

Every time I call up businesses they usually all have the same stupid voice greeting telling you to "listen carefully as the menu items have recently changed." Really? Who cares? You are wasting my valuable time. Just tell me the options and I will choose.

Last week the Coast posted a blurb in this section by someone who was expressing joy at the misfortune of others: An individual who found pleasure by reading about violence and vandalism. Perhaps that contributor’s time would be better spent looking within at the true source of their unhappiness. It is gross to wish ill upon others, regardless of your relationship with them. It is also gross to provide a platform for that kind of negativity. The Coast and ‘Karma Enthusiasts’ should be ashamed of themselves. This world needs people and platforms that lift others up. I have no trust in the Halifax Regional Police. If even half the accusations in just the past year are false, they are still one of the slimiest gangs of criminals in this province. Violence, rape, theft: You name it and someone in the HRP has (allegedly) gotten away with it. Public safety is already falling on the shoulders of the citizens, so what good are these goons?

You never know how disrespectful and messy people are until you work at a gym. For some reason, members LOVE to neglect cleaning up after themselves. Every day plates are left on the ground, yoga mats not rolled up—or they're just draped carelessly OVER the other neatly rolled mats. There's equipment being moved to different rooms and left there. Who raised you??? I don't know what you think I'm supposed to do, but it's not my job to clean up your messes. I once had to clean up some lady's WET HAIR that had fallen out while showering. I'm not out here trying to clean up YOUR HAIR. CLEAN UP AFTER YOURSELF.
