Why has the street sweeper come down my street three times in the same night between 1 am and 3:30 am? The same street three fucking times. Why??? It's loud as fuck and wakes me up every time. What is the point of even having a street sweeper? What exactly is it sweeping up? Some dust off the road? A few pebbles? What a waste of tax dollars and a total nuisance when people are trying to sleep! Fuck off, you assholes. You got pot holes everywhere, but your main priority is to sweep the outdoors? What dumb asses!

The program is not doing enough for people with physical and mental health disabilities. If a person tries to go get help on their own, like for the proper therapy in helping with PTSD, well, community services considers going to school work, not therapy, so they make you sign up for employment works! If a person is disabled and can't work because of severe physical and mental health issues, why are they told that if they don't sign up for the program, it could effect their funding? That is the line they use on every piece of paper that is sent to clients. This is a form of intimidation. How is it helping anything?

I'm tired of being treated like shit by my customers in the retail industry (and I'm sure other industries feel this too). It is my job to talk to you when you walk into my store. I have to say hello. I have to ask you if you need any help. It's my job to tell you the price of an item. The amount of customers who won't even let me greet them is astonishing. The amount of "Hi, how are you?" responded with "Just looking" makes me exhausted. I'm being nice and I'm trying to help you. Let me do my job. If you can't handle the social interaction just stick to amazon.ca.

Also, many people have never had to work in retail and it really shows! The amount of people who get upset with the associate for a policy or sale that is out of their control is ridiculous. I've been called a cunt and a bitch for something out of my control. It does nothing to help your situation and makes the associate feel like shit.

If you're reading this, please be nice to those whose job it is to interact with you, we just want you to be nice.

Finally folks are back on the Common in force, enacting their right to chill and not be messed with. It's a special preserve that no rich developer can buy, no bank can rename in their glory and no advertising will be seen. It's great and for the most part people do a pretty good job sharing it respectfully.

What would be disrespectful? Any of the aforementioned endeavours to make capital gain, for sure. Blasting your own music without asking everybody in the city first whether they want to hear it? Definitely. Why then do radio stations get the privilege above all other businesses to advertise themselves with speakers on top of trucks in the guise of a tasteless block party with no guests? Trucks on the Common?! Top 40? It's not fair to subject others to what you think they want to hear.

The Oval should respect this as well, but instead as people lay reading books and children try roller skating, churlish radio hosts talk about the gnarliest place to get laid in the world and emit shrill compressed cackles over each other. The best thing about the radio is that you don't have to listen to it if you don't want to. The best thing about the Commons is that no one is allowed to blatantly advertise in your face. Radio station promoters go home!

To the intoxicated girl who felt obliged to violate my personal space and attempted to steal my hat in a dramatic and drawn-out public fashion. I have some unapologetic and heartfelt words of wisdom for you. The way you conducted yourself as an "adult" in a public space was embarrassing and rude in a truly cringe-worthy manner. Your adolescent display of emotional immaturity and lack of respect to my personal boundaries was shameful.

As a man who respects the right of women to feel safe in the downtown social scene and makes a concerted effort to contribute to a good-vibes culture of safety, it was very awkward navigating the aggressiveness of your actions. Next time you decide to get white-girl wasted and make a fool of yourself in public, I hope your friends will be more proactive in trying to safeguard your dignity, and call you on your bullshit. I have compassion for your ignorance, I truly do. I believe at your core you are a good person, but seriously grow the fuck up and treat people with respect. Building a grass-roots culture of consent is a community effort, play your part or stay home.

Why is the government reneging on their promises? We the people in poverty are still waiting, since 2006. You can see it every time a story hits the news about how people living on income assistance are in dire straits and going hungry. When those reporters ask questions about what is going on, the answer they get from government is always the same: "Wait until the employment support and income assistance transformation is completed." and "We will raise the rates and things will get better."

That was 13 years ago. How much suffering can a poor person endure? That response is so old, it has dinosaur crap on it. There were supposed to be increases in 2019, what happened there? Here it is six months into 2019 and nothing has been done yet! What the hell is going on? Is the government lying again? Of course it is!

When does the government ever tell the truth about people living in poverty? Instead they breed discrimination, hate and crime. They blame all people in poverty for the actions of a few. The stigma created is made up of people who have more money than you could imagine, but those are the people that never had to beg for food or spare change. Yes, there are the ones that waste their funding on drugs and alcohol, but let's be real here: Not every person living in poverty is an addict or alcoholic. Some people feel like this is their tax money being wasted, but that is not the truth. We pay HST, property tax and other taxes that most of the population of Canada pays. That should be enough to say to the working class, because they are the ones who discriminate the most!

Who in our present government is helping? People in poverty should not vote in any election, because we do not reap the benefits and most of what we do need is non-existent, so why should we vote if we don't matter? I urge the people in poverty not to vote and let's just see what happens. Let's really find out if we can get the help that every human being in Canada is entitled to.

The people of Canada care more about helping other countries, but when it comes to helping their own people, they complain that we are no-good people who just want to sponge off the government. What is wrong with this picture? Help other countries but not your own?! Shame on the government, shame on the filthy rich who hold most of Canada's wealth and shame, shame, shame on the people of this province. I hope no of you ever have to live this way.

I went into an NSLC that sells cannabis for the first time to make a purchase. I started at the iPads that they had to use. I thought that I was to search for the strain I wanted and then get in line to make a purchase but that’s not what they’re set up for. The person at the counter told me that the iPads only showed what was in the warehouses, not what they have on hand. I was shocked at the amount of tax money went to set up the dozen iPads. They were used to place an online order! Who the hell would travel to the NSLC to place an order online? Most people would do it from home. A complete waste of money.

Due to the shortages of weed the four large screens on the wall behind the counter were also useless. I’d like to meet the government employee that came up with these idiotic systems.

Instead, the sales associate showed me a printed list of available weed—but it didn’t have the price per gram so that I could compare prices. I had told her I was looking for a sativa strain, but she pointed to an indica strain!

Then, when I asked if they had a listing with the price per gram, she started giving me attitude—making me uncomfortable. There are many online sources for weed, with better prices and no attitude. I had looked at the online news of places in the US that had just started selling weed from a storefront. Unless they were all acting, they were cheery, helpful and never appeared to feel they were entitled to be nasty to customers. I think that we should be able to order online and then go to the store to pick it up, like you can do for groceries or merchandise at Walmart and Canadian Tire. It should be cheaper to hire someone that doesn’t need to understand stains, or the difference between THC and CBD. I have never had a problem with an NSLC employee when I buy beer.

If we had gone with private storefronts, we could have saved a shitload of money on stores with pointless functions.

WTF Halifax? Long Lake Provincial Park, over 2,000 hectares and nary a centimetre dedicated for dogs to run and swim, unless you risk being fined. There is room for all. FTL (Free the Leash).

There was a bill passed unanimously in December of 2007 by the House of Assembly: bill 94. This bill was to establish the Poverty Reduction Working Group (PRWG), whose mandate was to prepare a report for the government by June 30,2008.

You'd think the government would act on the recommendations of the PRWG, after all the work that the group did. I think that the PRWG was listened to because they don't listen to common sense. My point? All this work was for nothing. The government puts on a good front, but in the end it flip-flop. Two entities that care less about poverty are the politicians and the very wealthy. These are the people who lie, cheat and steal to get what they need to succeed in life.

It's true, and I do not see those people helping anybody living in poverty. The wealthy control all the money, so therefore, they control the government. The politicians are flunkies for the very wealthy and I don't care what kind of feedback I get for speaking out!

Truly, I believe all people living in poverty should not vote this year, because what good would it do anyway? None of the people who say that they want to help really care. When people in poverty vote for a certain person to help them, they are just being used to get votes. They don't care about people living in poverty. They never did!

So think about this: Those idiots are just telling lies to everybody. It does not take a genius to see that after all the years of lies and deceit, this has to stop. The government creates discrimination, hate and the stigmas put on everybody living in poverty. The working people create a lot of the stigma. What a way to treat your fellow Canadians, use them, then toss them aside like garbage. Help other countries poverty but not your own! What have Canadian people become? Feed other countries without a second thought, but if your own people need help, well that is when people living in poverty are discriminated against. I guess if you close your eyes there is no poverty HA!

You would rather help with other countries' poverty issues than fix your own country. What's up with that? Wake up people, charity begins at home—or did most of this country for get that!
