I have a great suggestion in order to make transit better. Fire at least 50% of the bus drivers who have to work either the weekend shifts or the holiday shifts. I normally only take transit on Saturday's and have not had a friendly driver in over a month. I was brought up to say "good morning" and "thank you" and the drivers I have had on the #18 have either ignored me or maybe let out a grunt now and again. I am starting to wonder whether they realized that they would have to deal with the public when driving a public mode of transportation, hmmmm. Metro Transit has got to start implementing a program for their drivers on how to deal with the public. Now I get why I hear so many complaints about bus drivers !!! —justsaying

Do you seriously think everyone wearing a orange work vest is a cartboy? And to tell some complete stranger to put your cart away for you when the cart corral is 5 feet from your car really takes some nerve. It must have surprised you when I told you I didn't work there because you then tried to makeup a medical reason why you can't push that cart 5 feet. If you had the ability to use the cart to shop with, you could push it that extra 5 feet, if not you definitely should not have been driving a car. There I was May 17, 6:55 a.m trying to walk to work from Dartmouth to Halifax on the bridge. Only to be stopped rudely by three "security" people who said the bridge was "closed". Closed to pedestrians before 7am??? WTF. Who do they think they are? What about poor people who have no other way to cross Halifax Harbor? What about me who was just trying to get to work at the hospital? No one ought to think they can monopolize use of the bridge. What petty bourgeois nonsense. What arrogance. I have lived and worked all over the world and none merges worse than Halitonians!! In New Zealand there are signs everywhere encouraging people to merge "Like a Zip" and traffic merges super smooth even during rush hour. Merge like a zipper people one for one, do not stop and wait for someone to let you in, do not merge early, and do not let more than one car in at a time!!! —Is a smooth commute too much to ask?!

Wtf is wrong with humanity? We seem to be hell bent on destroying ourselves and everything else that lives on this planet. The US recently announced plans to start drilling for oil in one of the most environmentally sensitive regions of the planet: Alaska. Ok; why do we need more oil? We are being told that the oil that is in the ground must stay in the ground if we want to avoid irreversible global warming. Now there are many that deny that global warming is real; those that say that it is part of a natural "cycle". We toss plastic into our oceans; which gets eaten by the fish and any other life forms.
