To the group of guys commenting on my friend and I's appearances pretty loudly last night as we sat at a table - is that even a standardized scale? What were your expectations? That we would be flattered and hop on one of your chicken-wing stained laps?
Probably not, but you probably weren't thinking "bro, let's objectify some ladiez 2nite because they are the weaker gender", either. I bet there are actually a handful of good people in your crew, so try and think for yourselves next time your bros start getting rowdy, and how it is really, really not cool to try and belittle the people around you.
"They kind of look uncomfortable". Yeah, you made us feel like by merely sitting there we were making ourselves available to be scrutinized and gawked at. That is not a way to treat other people, regardless of if you are at a bar and the UFC game is on and there are hella fine young ladies sippin wine nearby. —A Nice Gal

To the asshole who stood holding the door as I walked towards it. What a kind gesture. This guy is waiting for me with the door opened! People are actually nice here at school.. Hahaha fuck you!!! Why the hell would you hold a fucking door for someone just to let it slam in their face as they walk through? Thanks bud.. I appreciate my $2.80 coffee being spilled all over my white shirt. Appreciate that!
Also, your friend who thought it was hilarious.. Go fuck yourself!! I remember your faces. See you around =) —Last laugher.

Anyone who has an interest in critical thinking can see the NS Union culture for what it is. Power hungry morally bankrupt hypocrites who won't be satisfied until they get legislative control as well as complete and utter control over "their" workers and "their" jobs.
These aren't union jobs. The union doesn't own them. Government jobs are jobs of the people and for the people. In my mind it comes down to a simple premise: In a province where you can't opt out of union membership, unions have no basis to complain about "democracy" and their perceived loss of due process.
Unions are not legislators, and although they got pretty close with our previous NDP government, I hope this step by our current administration will ensure that NEVER happens again. If unions believe in democracy now perhaps they'll ensure employees can opt out of the union.
Maybe they'll ensure there are secret ballots held on topics of dues and certification to ensure no one is intimidated. They'll care about employees' say in what political parties are given their dues. Democracy is needed, indeed.
Workers deserve protections from predatory unions just as much as they deserve protections from crony capitalism. —Freedom from union cronys, please

Disillusioned by anti-Union knee-jerk remarks. These are people fighting to keep rights not new ones. Complaining that the current union protest is preventing people from working by marching on four streets surrounding a single block for two days now; anyone tried getting around the city without hitting a construction obstacle that have been causing problems all summer? It’s also hard for a union to negotiate a contract when an employer won’t talk, how can you blame a union from protesting when their rights are unilaterally legislated away, leaving the employer free to ignore any requests to talk. Critics are outraged by the salary of one union member while ignoring management salaries up to 10 x that of union members. How many VPs does one agency need? I’m amazed that consolidating a bunch of top heavy agencies into one would result in a mere $5 million in savings; obviously the savings will be realized by removing front line positions instead of reducing the number of high paying plum titled positions. I wonder how many VP Agency Consolidation, VP Process Amalgamation, VP Executive Compensation, VP Management Remuneration, VP Management Position Retention, VP Whatever Title Required for a 6 Figure Salary, or VP Position to be Determined Later the amalgamated agency will have?
Unions are one of the last large organizations that can speak out for regular Nova Scotians. Unions are an essential voice in holding governments accountable. When the Unions’ last rights are legislated away and it loses its voice to speak up for Nova Scotians, who will people turn to. —Pork Barrel Pillager

Are you the lady who strutted around my store without buying anything and asked my customer if he knew his cigarettes would kill him? What's up with that? He knows they may or may not; we're all adults and it's absolutely none of your business. —Poison peddler

There is nothing for adults with Aspergers/high-functioning autism in this province, except constant referrals to non-existent services allegedly provided by agencies catering to families and children, and/or referrals to costly private services that the majority of AS adults cannot access. As a group, we are disproportionately un- or under-employed, with no money for such services and no health insurance.
Whining by another special interest group in NS? Sure, but we constitute a group with high potential to contribute to the economy as taxpayers and employees who put our jobs ahead of most other aspects of life. That's part of our diagnosis: people with above-average intelligence, socially impoverished lives and a dedication to our work. Only about 12-15% of us are considered employed at a self-supporting level, unfortunately. We are too educated and erudite and "niche" for the disability-oriented employment services. It is no matter of feeling "too good for" customer service and much blue collar work--we simply crash and burn in these AS-inappropriate fields to which we are consigned due to our lack of ability to network and frequent social isolation.
A net asset to the economy if properly supported, we are instead a net drain. I'm personally sick of the referrals to inappropriate or financially inaccessible services, and well-meaning advice to ask my non-existent "family and friends" to go to bat for me in the effort to access treatment and/or employment.
I'm no lazy, uneducated sponge, but nor am I able to use the usual conduits to sustainable employment (because of the disability). I keep looking and trying, on an empty stomach. —Burned Bridges
