To the Spring Garden Bus driver who used his bus to intimidate me on my bicycle- I was in the right by traffic rules and had no where to go when you pulled into my lane. How dare you threaten me with 100 tons of steel by accelerating up my backside and honking repeatedly. My life does not hinge on your impatience in any circumstance. We share the road...size doesn't matter...you acted like a crazed killer today. Shame on you. —guy on a vintage Italian bike

I enjoy being a cyclist year round. One complaint I have is the abundance of drivers that feel the need to holler and yell at me to use the shoulder of the road. I realize I bike through mostly undeveloped areas with extremely narrow, pot-holed ancient roads. But if the shoulder was paved and debris/obstacle free I would, and do, use it. Now not to stereotype but the majority of these vocal shoulder users have been in pick-ups that don't quite fit the lane to begin with. But my question is if the shoulder is so nice then why don't you drive on it? Then to top it all off the hollering yokel this morning even had a pair of plastic testicles dangling from his truck. What a joke people like this are. —Romeo

So we get all the back to school shopping done at great expense. The only thing thats bugging me is the markers, colored pencils and crayon situation. Finally this company, (I can't say the company's name, but they're the best), release boxes with one hundred colors. Now it may be excessive but its awesome and the kids were super excited. So we get home and I had to open the markers because one hundred colors doesn't come along everyday and I had just had to see. Then I looked at the colored pencils and amazingly enough they're even presharpened. All one hundred colors! Now heres my complaint, why the hell are there only ninety-six crayons? They could have easily added another row of four at either end, I'm not picky as to the placement. Now on top of that what four colors did they not include compared to the markers and colored pencils? Thats what pisses me off the most. Seriously, do they expect us or kids to go through and spot the difference? Pretty foolish if you ask me. I contacted the company about them making one-hundred packs of crayons as well as what the four missings colors are but we have yet to hear back. —Tim&Sherry

A lot of time can be spent talking while waiting on doctors. Thankfully I am able to listen to my friend as she sits waiting and scared. Most of her thoughts are of family, friends and those gone before her. But one day the conversation was about you.
Do you remember what it was like to be alone, scared, an addict and about to be kicked out with no place to go? Who was the person who stuck with you, helped to get you to a safe place to sleep, eat and get help?
Now she's waiting for her chemo, scared, facing the stark reality that this is it and you can't be bothered to inquire, send a note, or even care.
I asked my minister why someone would be that way. While he tried to give me answers about inner turmoil and fear, I could only think that you must be the most selfish, miserable person imaginable. No one is asking you to do more than be kind.
So I leave you with this: Every day you are faced with a choice, to give support or turn your back. I really hope you begin to understand that the small gestures don't cost YOU a lot, but they certainly mean plenty to the recipient. —Red Fraggle

I had a blast in Chester a couple ago but when it came time to have a drink with fellow sailers at the boat club, I was surprised to see that it looked more like a frat house. I know the town of Chester likes the money that Race Week brings in but, how can they turn a blind eye to so many under-aged over-served kids?! How can the fire department allow a place to be packed well beyond capacity with drunken children? This is an accident waiting to happen and no one will be able to say they din't know what was going on. The RCMP were huddled at the entrance but, ignoring the fact that NO ONE was being checked for I.D's. Shame on you Chester! —Race guy

You stopped me and said, “Hey sexy, do you have a cigarette?” I didn't hear you say the sexy part, so I began to dig one from my backpack. As I was doing so, you said, “I love your hair,” and touched it. As I passed you the cigarette to get you to leave me alone, you then called me “sweetheart,” slowly looked me up and down, and continued on your way. Firstly, DO NOT touch my hair, unless you are given my explicit permission. Respect my personal space. What you did was creepy and demeaning. I just wanted to go for a nice walk, but instead I had yet another moment of the objectification and presumed ownership of my female body. You left me feeling small and without a voice. What upsets me the most is not even what you said, but that I have experienced this so often that it no longer shocks me. Now it’s just background noise, and that makes me feel even worse. —Disappointed yet again
