I went to a comedy night last Monday and I'm still not over how terrible it was. Other than the host and last two comics (who I can’t comment on because I didn't even stay to watch them perform), each comic expressed a degree of sexism, ranging from insulting to just dreadfully boring. Have none of these guys got the memo that people are tired and fed up with the sexism that the comedy industry has been plagued with for however many decades? Do they internet at all? Touching on the fact that you realize sexism and harassment are on the forefront of minds and a daily reality for majority of womxn but then continue to punch down on said population with degrading jokes does not make you edgy or provocative, it just shows you have nothing original or of real interest to share with your audience.

I had to go home and YouTube some real comedy to get rid of the violent vibes that that show left me with. I really didn't think it could be that bad! It was painful and someone needed to tell you. —In Need Of Woke Comedy Please

To you, you common jerk, who stole my son's locked up bike in the “high class” area of the south end (more like low filth class). It was his only mode of transportation to get to work that would have afforded him healthy exercise. You fucking selfishly shit on his Christmas and you hurt his whole family and upset his very frail grandparents. I hope you fucking die of the coke you snorted up your brainless appendage that you got in return for the dope money you got for selling his bike.

There’s more class and caring in Spryfield area where I grand  less crime than in that dump hole you call high class. Thanks a fucking lot news media for giving a black eye to Spryfield as opposed to the shit hole south end. —Angry Mom

Always remember this before you buy a pet: "If you can't handle the responsibility, then don't even think about owning a pet." Seriously people, I am sick and tired of everyone not picking up their animals shit. Start practicing responsible pet ownership or I will personally call animal control to take your damn animal away. —Get Off My Lawn!

What gives business owners the right to treat their employees like crap? Several times in the last few months I have watched an owner of a Central Halifax bar treat her employee like a sub-human. It's evident in your body language. It's evident in the way you speak to her. Little do you know, because you're rarely there, that she is your hardest working employee. Your terrible attitude towards her is obvious, and it's one of the reasons why you're losing customers. Meanwhile, the employee you should really be concerned about is overcharging customers, ripping off his coworkers for their hard earned tips, and ultimately ripping you off. Yet you fail to notice this and instead focus on trivial crap, listening to the employee who is the real culprit. Maybe the botox is clouding your mind! —One Less Customer

Is it just me or are the prices in thrift stores getting ridonkulous? I looked at a faded cotton maxi dress—38 bucks! It's not even in season!  A fall jacket with fake fur trim—35 dollars.  A purse with a broken zipper, scratched hardware and dirty lining: 10 dollars, not even that great of a brand name.  I asked the snotty sales girl to drop the price but she said no! They'd rather put that stuff back on the shelves to sit there and collect dust than give you break on the price.  These "thrift" shops even have the nerve to operate under the guise of charity, when in actual fact, they are greedy corporations. Their products are all donated, making their costs zero and making their profit 100 percent. There is no need to gouge their customers who are low income people—the very people they claim to be helping.  I could buy this shit from Walmart brand new for much less. I am done! I will never shop at your stores again and I will sooner set my shit on fire than ever donate anything to your "thrift" stores. —Doing All My Future Thrifting Out Of Town

A note to all overconfident dog owners walking their furry beloved off-leash…stop! Lots of people don’t like dogs, or are terrified of them. These people can’t be expected to peacefully coexist with dogs if some dog owners aren’t respecting the leash laws by walking their pup off leash. These laws are there to protect everyone, including the dogs and too often I see misguided owners whose love for their dog blinds them to the fact that their dog is an animal.

It’s naive and dangerous to think you can control an animal 100 percent of the time. They have instincts and just because something bad hasn’t happened yet doesn’t mean it won’t. Some of us have shelter dogs who have lived a scary life and when your free-range fur baby approaches them, it makes them nervous and may even start a fight. Some of us don’t want other dogs sniffing our dog. Some of us don’t like your dog taking a deuce on our lawn while you're 30 feet ahead and don’t notice. HRM has lots of designated leash-free spaces you can gleefully frolic with your pup. Otherwise, please respect your dog, my dog, your neighbours, and the law by keeping fluffy leashed. —Tired of Free Range Fidos

I don't get it. I carefully park leaving equal space on either side at 5:30 in the AM. You felt it was your fucking right to gouge my car door on the passenger side. Why? We are all working stiffs that have to park along that fence. Why would you do such a nasty thing? —Clueless Commuter

I can only assume that the average Dartmouth apartment does not include luxuries like running water or laundry rooms. What else might explain the overpowering nostril assault of armpit, crotch, stale cigarettes, and weed wafting from the masses on public transit past the bridge?  C'mon Dartmouth dwellers, let's have a personal hygiene moment every now and again—can’t let those Haligonians think we have no pride! —A Rare Bathing Dartmouthian

What would you think if you read the following on a menu?: “Enjoy a bottomless coffee with your meal” (There is no price listed beside this, despite all the other beverages on the page having listed prices).

Well, I think the average person could reasonably assume that the coffee was included in your meal so long as you purchased one.

No, in fact, the coffee was just under four dollars after tax and amounted to about the size of a medium Tim’s. Now, I will say that the server was outstanding—very friendly, prompt, etc. 10/10 on the service. And the food was pretty good too, 7/10 there. Nobody who works there is responsible for the menu and honestly, if the price was listed I probably would have still bought the coffee anyway.

I just really dislike feeling like I've been tricked by an establishment. Fix your menu to reflect the actual price of the items people are ordering. Especially since the first thing they ask when you're seated—before you even have the chance to see a menu—is "do you want a coffee”? Were it not for the outstanding customer service I had there (still paid for coffee and tip on top), I'd not be back. —Misleading Menu Makes Me Moody

Whoever is responsible for the transit changes really does not like people. Why would you change the number 9 to 29 and the 6 and 20 to 9A and 9B? Why not just leave the 9 as the 9 and do whatever you want with the 6 and 20. Cause it is just going to confuse people. I am just waiting for it. And winter is coming lol...going to be inundated with calls about people from the terminal getting on the wrong bus. —Transit Changes
