I was out dancing with a group of friends a few weeks ago at a popular dance night in the north end. The place was packed and my throat felt like it was on fire after an hour or two on the floor, so I grabbed a glass of water and took a seat at the end of the bar.

There was a table of 'bears' sitting in front of me and I recognized one of them from my sandwich flinging days. To my surprise, he came up to me and introduced himself, shaking my (cold and wet, sorry! damn water glass!) hand and said that they missed me at the shop. It made me smile and I thought it was sweet, so thanks!

I could do without ever, ever, ever working in the food industry again for a long list of reasons, but I definitely do miss the people who made me smile every day.

In case any of you are wondering, though... I've traveled and experienced some crazy things since then, and now I'm pursuing an education and I'm happier than I have been in years. The sandwich girl part of my life may be over, but I don't think that I'll ever forget some of the awesome people I've met along the way. Thanks for remembering me! —Crazy Redheaded Ex-Sandwich Girl (Trinket)

I'm glad I was breaking the law just enough to have a pleasant conversation about how dangerous biking is in Halifax. If more police officers were like you, this city would be a much better place. Good luck out there! —Sidewalk Cyclist

To the guy down in the corner who admires my shoes and sells me my cds/dvds. When I say I have no big plans, that's your cue! —Running Out of Multimedia Money

You guys were kind enough not only to notice my pain, but to drive my boyfriend and I to our home. I really cannot thank you enough. I've been feeling jaded about Halifax lately, but two acts of kindness in one week have totally turned it around. Thank you to all Haligonians who go the extra mile to do kind things. You keep Halifax beautiful. —Limpy Magoo

Reminiscing of our times and I smile. You were the most amazing lover I've ever had, hands down. With merely a thrust you made me squirt and it hasn't happened since. Look me up lover, I'm back in the city. Time to play again. —Blowfish

There's nothing better than the first strains of summer. Waking up this morning at 6:30am and being nearly blinded by the light, at first I was pissy but really, it's worth it to spend the rest of the day in this cheerful sunshine. I love you, sunny days, never leave. —Little Patch of Sunlight

When you told me that you want to marry me and start a family, the feeling I felt inside of me was the happiest moment ever. I have never felt this way before and never thought it would happen to me. We have had our problems but through it all our love for each other has been more than enough to know that we are really meant to be together until we die. We are very lucky to be in each other's lives. You are so amazing and can't imagine not having you in my life. I love you with all my heart and you are my True Love. —Boyfriend/Oldman

I hope your intentions are true. I'd miss your freckles. I want to taste your lips, and let you hold me. I am so in love with the way you feel. —Long Legs

Just graduated, preparing for my first big interview in my field. I realize the appointment is at 2, not 3, and run for the bus. I run to catch it and jump aboard only to realize I forgot my wallet, and only have a looney. This bus driver says "ya that's fine" and I'm overwhelmed with gratitude. I go to take a seat and hang my head in shame and anticipation when I realize "Oh god I'm viewing a new apartment after this". So I go back to the driver and ask shamefully for a transfer. "No sweat pal, it's going to be okay." I got the job, thanks to you. You beautiful bastard, you. —Sweater and a Tie

So much thanks to a certain little phone company! I've dealt with all the evil giant companies before, it was unbelievable what they get away with...robbing people blind and what not! And those contracts...oh, the contracts! But that is what I love about you! No contracts. No bullshit! I pay $80 a month, for 3G data, unlimited day time, unlimited text, unlimited anywhere in Canada, no long distance in Canada. I love it! My bill is never over or under that $80! But sometimes I do forget to pay it, but one quick phone call to your friendly staff and we pick a time that is convenient for me to pay and it's fine! No charges, fees, anything! I love you! —I Could Kiss You El Tabador
