I love coming to your house! Even if I make myself feel like a total tool, you pat my head and smile. I wish I could have seen you more often over the bus strike, you brighten up my worse days and weeks. Thanks for making my Saturday's so much better with nerdy movies and cuddles. You're the best. —Awkward Glasses Girl

To the nurses at the HI that recently played host to some LPN students - thank you so much! You ladies were fantastic! There are some nurses who don't remember how intimidating it can be as a student, but you ladies were welcoming, educating and classy. Thank you! —Future LPN

I bought you 18 years ago in high school with money saved working part-time. We've been on countless adventures mountain biking around Victoria and Vancouver. I rode you rain or shine year round commuting to university. You're getting older now; I've converted you to a road commuter with skinny tires and paniers but you are still going strong. Every time I hop on you I'm saving money in gas and vehicle maintenance, reducing my carbon footprint and getting exercise to boot. What more could you ask for? I love you bike! —Dr. Jones

To the boy with the liquid courage who called me to say how much you wanted to see me again, I thought that was cute, funny, and it made my night. You could have hung up upon realizing I couldn't hear my phone for the music, but you left a hilarious message instead. Nobody calls anymore so kudos to you for revitalizing the voice mail! —Impressed

This is a shout-out to all you (motor) bikers out there that have pulled out your bikes for the sunny season. It is good to see you on the road. I am happy in my little honda civic but I appreciate the way you live life full throttle. You remind us that driving is not just the easiest way to get to work, it is something we can really enjoy doing. So, for to those of us who enjoy the privilege of driving a car (and the bus strike was a reminder of just how good we car folks have it), roll down the window, turn the music up and enjoy it even if you're just sitting in traffic. —Happy to be Driving a 5-Speed

You showed me the stillness on the Bras D'or early in the morning.
You showed me the strong winds at Meat Cove, shaking our tent as we looked out at the end of the world.
You introduced me to the rugged stoicness of those from Judique.
You gave me thousands of your beautiful smiles.
You shared innocent laughter with me at Joe's scarecrow village.
We loved each other.
I still love you.
I will never go a day without pain for hurting you. —SH

Thank you so much to the absolutely lovely bus driver who noticed me standing apart from the mob jockeying for position to get on the bus on Monday afternoon. That you noticed that I am pregnant and stopped right in front of me, thereby ensuring I got a seat, was much appreciated. —Expectant Mom

I may have flown from the hive, but baby I'm coming home. Two wings and a bee sting, bring me to sing, you're my queen and I'll remain your king. 200 thousand miles spread apart, you turn fictional love into art, can't you see, I want you, I need you, my Bumble-Bee. —King Bee
