Bus drivers come back. I love you. And not just because you get to where I need to go, but because you were friendly and I often had conversations with you. Opened your doors with a smile on your face (most times) and put up with the most ridiculous people. I have drives to and from work but it's just not the same. I won't see any of the interesting people that get on these buses, or some of the sexy drivers. It hasn't even been a whole day and I miss you already. —Sad Commuter

Most mornings, I walk or bike to work Downtown around 7:30 am. Most mornings, I’m relatively alone on my journey: I see some leaving-the-house activities in the neighbourhood I pass through, enjoy the silent swish of the speed skaters on the Common, and share an occasional nod of mutual approval with another biker. This morning was different, and wonderful. Whole pockets of people walked alongside me crossing the Commons, making new trails through freshly fallen snow. Our breaths made little clouds as the sun rose slowly over the Halifax Citadel. Being together, doing this walking-to-work thing made me feel like part of a connected community, and the beauty of the morning was lovely to share. I know the strike is a bitch for many, but it made my day. Please, if you worked to work during the strike and liked it, don’t go back to sitting on the bus – stay with me. —The One Who Smiled As We Walked

Beeb, you're wonderful just the way you are. Sometimes you let the world get you down, but the future is a beautiful thing and it is there for us to embrace it. My love is not filled with preconditions or biases, I love you for who you are.

Girl, you know that I love your ruggedness and the fact that you don't need any of that fancy bullshit. You keep it real. Just like the way I love the squint of your eyes and the grimace of pleasure on your face when you hear a dope bassline, I love the way you can legitimately care and reach out to those around you. Even when you are down.

Girl, your forward motion is contagious. You have persevered and gone through it all. Don't stop now. Lets keep on pushing forward. Love —Your Synthesist

You make me a better person, a believer, a lover, a free bird. You light my fire and heal me, you are the light beaming from the sun catchers as we run hand in hand our favourite song trailing our footsteps. For all those who don't believe in True Love I am here to say it is real. I found it 4 years ago and still experience it every day. Thank you my man on the moon for making me so happy always. I was lost but now am found, was blind but now I see... —We First Met at a Friend's House

Hello you sexxy Poe readin', H.P. lovecraft worshipin' ball of insanity and love... you have hipped me to my favourite literature, taken care of me when no one else would, and offered perspectives on things that I swear must have come from the abyss. Would you kindly show yourself on Quinpool more so I can study your every move, calculate your every gesticulation and ask you to marry me? Thanks. —Josephine

Much love and many thanks to the guy who prompted John Pinette on Tuesday to do his ewok impression - you took the words right out of my mouth. And what a great show! An additional shout out to the ever-amazing comedian John Pinette. I've been looking forward to that routine forever. —Jonha?

Whoever graffitied the bus-stop ad on South St, thank you. I was looking at it, annoyed, just a day prior but then you went and gave him a 'zorro' and brightened my afternoon. p.s. His slogan is dumb. —Cunjak

For Valentine's day I would love to go out on a date with someone that makes my heart beat. Someone who I find so attractive that I can't believe I am with them. I can pictures us going out to dinner, somewhere romantic where we spend time getting to know each other. You bring flowers. How thoughtful! Then we go for a walk somewhere private where you kiss me on the cheek and then I kiss your sweet lips. We hold each other and I have a boner. How sweet. —Hopeful

This love goes out to The Coast. Every week, without fail, you take me on a trip through a range of emotions I otherwise would have forgotten existed. It's getting kind of close to valentines day, I was, uhh, wondering... do you... have a Valentine? If not, well, I have some freaky plans in mind. —I Want To Be A Coast Host

To the guy at the club who danced with me Saturday, hats off to you! I had gone out with friends but felt awkward being the only taken girl in a gang of 5 singles. You and your friends danced with me and mine, and things got handsy in the group QUICKLY. When I told you I was uncomfortable and taken, you immediately toned it down, smiled brightly and said "Just dancing it is!" You were an amazing gentleman and continued to dance and talk with me until our groups parted ways. Thanks for being a nice guy in a place where you don't meet many! —Amazed and Glad
