After having dreams about you for the last three months, the loose ends that you left are starting to get to me. I'm not IN love with you anymore, and nor are you in love with me, but the fact that we were best friends, and I have no idea why you've been so mad at me all this time, is really throwing me off. I love you. I miss you. The dream you wants us to talk. —Great White

To the driver of the #1 Spring Garden to Dartmouth, that pulled up to next to my car on Spring Garden at Summer last night and started to rock out to the heavy heavy tunes coming from my car, I waved as you pulled into the stop you waved back with the devil horns \m/. —Metal Loving Sunday Evening Drive

A big MUAH to all the amazing peeps at certain bar on Saturday night! After a depressing week and being cowardly dumped in a Facebook message by a guy I was seeing for a bit citing ‘I’m not ready to date’ and then despite him showing up at the same bar and making out with some other chick (a-ha!) I had an AMAZING time! Everyone made me feel so special and so loved. The energetic dance floor made me feel like I was dancing with everyone, and not just on my own. And Fiona, wow! I would switch teams for you in an instant, beautiful! Thanks for all the love! XO—I’ll be Seeing you at Pride

I love that you read. I love that Dante gets you excited. I love that you know authors I mention. I love that you are always smiling. I love that you love your job that most people would hate. I love talking to you.

I hate that I am on my way out of this town.

Keep reading girl and keep smiling. —Book Turd

I just want to say that I think everyone is being WAY too negative about the CUPW strike. Have you all forgotten that it was the CUPW that picketed for 42 days in 1981 for paid maternity leave and won? Which in turn is why mothers get one year paid maternity leave now? I think you need to check yourself and realize that they deserve to fight for whatever reason. You never know what can come from it. Also, before you ask NO, I AM NOT IN A UNION, and I still support Canada Post. —Postal Worker Lover 4 Life

Edmonton doesn't get much love, but since I'm stuck here I figured I might as well try to like it and see the positives, so here I go:

I love your giant mall with the fake ships and waterpark, too cool! Mini-golf, ice skating, roller coasters, and the Fantasyland Hotel too.

Whyte Ave is always pretty hoppin with some good spots to go for nightlife. Rock on!

There's some surprisingly cool indie, artsy fartsy, etc. venues in various random places around town if you know where to look.

I love the sound the LRT makes when the doors are closing. Such a lovely, charming jingle (DING dong, DING dong).

The River Valley's pretty, lots of trails and things to do.

Love all the progress being made on 118 Ave (like the Gottingen Street of Edmonton). Lots of cool stuff happening up there. Now if they can only take the success to 111 Ave, 107 Ave, significant parts northeast of downtown, etc.

Love the fact you never have to get dressed up here, unlike Calgary, Vancouver, etc. I love that I can go to one of the nicest restaurants or bars in town in old jeans, a t-shirt, and Oilers cap and fit in perfectly fine.

Also some decent veggie/vegan places here, again if you know where to look.

Go Oilers and Eskies go! You've had some rough seasons lately, but I know you'll bounce back. This is the City of Champions after all.

I like the salt of the earth, unpretentious, tell it how it is blue-collar/working class nature of this city. You don't get that in Vancouver, Calgary, Toronto, or even really Halifax anymore. People may be kind of brash sometimes, but in a friendly, down to earth way.

Only a four hour drive to the Rockies - not bad! The surrounding Prairie scenery can also be impressive.

All the industrial areas may not be pretty, but interesting and impressive nonetheless. It's pretty cool seeing all the refineries and massive industrial complexes on the drive east to Sherwood Park.

Edmonton also has a (mostly) surprisingly progressive City Council. It's considered the liberal heart of Alberta, sometimes referred to as "Redmonton" (and yes, also "Deadmonton," but I'm trying to see the positives remember).

Anyway, I miss home (Halifax), but in my true Maritime spirit I'm still trying to look on the bright side of an otherwise unloved, unknown, underdog city. —Halimontonian

I haven't really been thinking about you lately, until I dreamed about you last night. I don't remember what it was about, but it served as a lovely reminder that you're an actual person and not a figment of my imagination. Even though you don't respond to emails well, I'm still around and will respond. —A

I completely support your right to fight for fair wages and to hang on to the benefits of a job you've been doing for years. I'm a union supporter and I hope you come out on top after all of this...

I just wanted you all to know how much I miss you. People say snail mail is dead, no one uses it anymore. But, I use it! I surround myself in beautiful stationary and I write letters and cards to send to friends and family all over the country. Email and other electronic forms of communication will never hold a candle to a pen and paper, a stamp, and the joy that comes from receiving something in the mail other than bills.

So, just remember that there are people out here who think your job is important and support you. —Sending Some Love

To the poor guy who had to endure two meals with my way too vocal mother, and then one with my entire family for my graduation dinner a while ago - I'm sorry if my mom embarrassed you with the heckling to ask me out. She's lovely but strange. I couldn't believe you remembered where we sat last time. You were very sweet and made that funny dinner more enjoyable. —Red Head

I was minding my own business, listening to my tunes, waiting for the light to change to a white hand. Sunny Day, new sneaks, all's good... and you drove by in your Jeep. I don't know if you thought you knew me... but you were surely hot. —Blond girl
