Dear Karma,
I love you. You never let me down. All I have to do is wait and watch and you deliver. Thank you for the gift you've given me. Eventually you will find all the horrible people of the world and work your sweet sweet magic.
I love you,

I was out at Herring Cove enjoying the sunshine and climbing on rocks when my phone flew from my pocket and into the depths of a pile of boulders up on the look out. My friend and I and some helpful passer-by tried for a good forty minutes to a) locate it b) once it had been located, reach down at different angels to try and grab it and c) vainly attempt to shove one of the boulders off the pile. I had given up hope and was walking away when a lovely couple appeared, said they'd overheard the problem and offered to help. My friend and I pointed out the hard-to-see phone with some doubt... but lo and behold, you managed to pull my precious cellular device from the crevice. I was overwhelmed and extremely grateful. I never caught your names, but if you're reading this, thank you so much again for giving it a shot and succeeding!

Can friends ever date? Or does it end at friends.

So I was running for the bus stop the other day—as I often do—when the (early) bus blew right past me and, having no reason to stop, straight through the next intersection. This left me, out of breath and irritated, to wonder how late for work I was about to be. Then I heard a honk and saw a car pull over beside me. I didn't recognize the driver, but he offered to give me a lift ahead of the bus so I could catch it. I jumped in and he drove past the next three or four stops before dropping me off. Then he was gone, like a mysterious masked stranger riding off into the mid-morning sun. Godspeed, stranger.

Hey guys. Thank you so very much for helping this really drunk woman carry a couch from the curb to my apartment three doors down. The reality is that you two did most of the lifting because I was falling and stumbling. I have no idea how I would have done it alone (who knows how!), but being very drunk and determined as I was, I would have found a way. Probably would have woken up with a lot of bruises and torn muscles today. So, thank you, thank you! You guys ROCK! Good vibes and karma your way!

You are the person who gets to decide who does what to your body. Nobody had the right to take that decision away from you. There are people in this city who support you, love you and believe you.

So nice to see something done about the speeders on Leeds Street—yes, talking to you students/staff at NSCC! First they put up the speed tracker at the corner of Robie and Leeds (personally, I think they should have put it up at the crosswalk, but that's just me), and now they put the flags up for people crossing at the crosswalk. Hopefully the drivers will see the flags and realize they should respect the speed limit. Many kids from the elementary school and lots of NSCC students crossing from the bus stop. Nice to see the steps to making that road safer!

I would like to thank the super cool drunk lady I met after The Sheepdogs show the other night. Typically I keep to myself when walking home after the bar but there was something about you that made me comfortable enough to say hello. Most ladies around here avoid guys like the plague when walking around late at night. You rekindled my faith that I can still meet super cool people late at night. Thanks for the hug. See you around!

Yourself and a friend sat in my bar this past Friday night and feverishly worked away catching up on some late school work because of a solid St. Patrick’s night previous. I couldn't stop watching you type away and sip on your beer, we joked and I continued to admire your skill. You both stayed late and I am not one for approaching patrons, but when I realized you had left your scarf I took the opportunity to go for a light jog as you both made your way home. The timing was perfect. You realized you had left it and I showed up with scarf in hand (slightly out of breath, ha!) Had I been smart I would have handed you my number along with it but I hadn't thought that far ahead. I just wanted to return your scarf and catch one last glimpse of that beautiful smile! To end this longer-than-needed note I just wanted to let you know your beauty left a lasting impression and your sincere gratitude made it all worth while...not to mention I had a nice evening run! Should you read this, return a note and maybe we could chat a little longer next time.
