To the man with a laugh that wraps me up like that patchy hand-knit blanket. You are the greatest. I hope we can laugh together always. I know I put my foot in my mouth often... but that's just because I like you so much. Hopefully, one day, I will be able to take my foot out of my mouth and tell you what you mean to me, until then let's sing stupid songs and watch Doctor Who. - The Woman With Two Breasts

You love exotic travel. I am going and want you with me. Maybe leaving for a year will be the adventure you crave. Distance from here would be awesome, wouldn't it? I want to see your smile every chance I can. - You're #1 To Me

Just over a year ago, you came into the little store where I was working in Park Lane mall after Christmas. I was going through a pretty rough time, and when you said that you thought 2012 was going to be the best year yet, I responded unenthusiastically. You noticed how sad I was, and returned a few minutes later with a small gift from a neighbouring store. I still think about your kind gesture all the time, and I wanted to say thank you again - and tell you that 2012 turned out pretty great after all! - Formerly Sad Shopgirl

To the waitress at a certain downtown bar notorious for having the wait staff dress like old-timey bar wenches. My friends and I came in really late on a friday night, just before New Years and I was so damn drunk. Every time you came to our table I pretty much stared directly at your chest. I'm sure it was obvious to you and it probably happens a lot more than I realize. You didn't respond in a rude way and were very professional, you handled my lame ass very well. My drunkenness is not an excuse to behave like that and I am not normally that big of a douche. So, I'm really sorry that I treated you like that, I sincerely feel like a jerk and rightly so. I hope you make tons of tips and I shall limit the amount I drink when I am downtown in the future. - Tired of Holiday Celebrations

To the irate lady who phoned this morning and tore me a new poopchute. I'm sorry I didn't know what to tell you on the spot. You see, you really startled me when I answered the phone and you started to speak. I wanted to say something on the spot to help with your unfortunate plight but I couldn't seem to convey my feelings in that instant. I've settled down now, a little bandaid on my new arsehole, thinking maybe you need a hug, or an ear, or a friend. I would gladly provide any or all of those. - Yes I Do Care

Thank you for your help in saving a ownerless dog from the cold. You didn't hesitate to drop everything to go pick up the dog tied to the light post in front of the closed animal hospital. I was heartbroken, crying and desperate for help and I really dont know what i would have done without you. Good things will come your way. Thank you!! - Helpless and Scared of Dogs

Halifax, I love your cool cafes and colourful houses, warm people and cold winters, and how you still feel like home even though I've moved away. Please don't change a bit. - Moving Back Someday

As of late, there's been too much bitchin' and not enough lovin'. So I'm here to spread the love like peanut butter on warm toast, and hopefully it will stick to the roof of your mouths. To all of those I interact with on a day to day basis: I hope you're catching what I'm throwing. Maybe one day we can all play catch. - Your Friendly Neighbourhood Barista

We danced across the temporal divide, from 2012 to 2013, touching fingers, touching hands, never grasping, not possessive. A dance of hands, a dance of bodies, upturned fingers reach to touch. Touch back SoHo/DWC. - DG

You totally made my day the morning of the snowstorm when almost no one else was open. Thanks for the warmth and cheerfulness! - Blue Beret
